So I know my last post talked about how I was going to start back at studying for my CCIE. Heck, I even called the post ‘Back on the proverbial horse’. However, I have once again changed my mind. I’ve realized that I’m a little burnt out on studying Cisco. I’ve lowered my expectation from getting my CCIE R&S this year to passing the written. I think I could probably sit the written next week and pass, but probably not with as good a score as I would like.
That being said, I’m not going to quit studying, I’m just changing the subject for awhile. I’m going to spend a month or so focusing on VMware and Red Hat Linux. Both products will be a welcome change from networking and I’ve always wanted to learn more about both. I took a VMware class late last year and I was tempted to sit my VCP at that time so maybe I’ll try that again.
After I dabble in this distraction, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to refocus on the CCIE and get the written knockedn out this fall. I’m really looking forward to studying for the lab, the written is what I’m not looking forward to.
So hopefully, there will be some Linux/Virtualization posts coming soon. Stay tuned.
