I was reading through my RSS feed this AM and saw a post from Jeremy at TekCert about the well known DNS server 4.2.2.2. I never really thought about it, but I must use 4.2.2.2 almost every day. Any time I want to query external DNS I set my NSLOOKUP server to 4.2.2.2 and query it for names. At any rate, I had heard about Google’s 8.8.8.8 server but I’m glad to see that Jeremy now has empirical data proving that 4.2.2.2 is better.

Thanks Jeremy! That was a good one!

They have depreciated the dns and stability of this ip address over the years –
I have not used this dns since 2014 as it took down multiple sites that I was using it as a forwarder.
